The Institut Pasteur du Cambodge (IPC) is a Cambodian non-for-profit research institution established in 1953, IPC is today a scientific research establishment declared of public utility placed under the high patronage of the Ministry of Health of the Kingdom of Cambodia and under the responsibility of the Institute Pasteur on the scientific and technical levels. The IPC is a member of the Pasteur Network, which brings together 33 institutes present on five continents. It shares the Pasteurian values and the ethical charter to which the Pasteur Institutes are bound. The IPC has more than 250 employees, including about 30 expatriates of 22 nationalities and includes 5 research units. It carries out research activities in health biology, public health and service activities (Medical Biology Laboratory, vaccinations and water and food analyses) and training.
The lnstitut Pasteur du Cambodge (IPC) is recruiting one full time Laboratory of Metrology Technician based in Hygiene Security Quality Metrology Service.
Position Overview |
The Laboratory Metrology Technician will play a crucial role within the Hygiene Security Quality Maintenance and Metrology Service at the Institut Pasteur du Cambodge (IPC). The successful candidate will be responsible for performing metrology activities essential for ensuring the accuracy and reliability of laboratory equipment, and tests. This position requires a meticulous and detail-oriented individual committed to maintaining high standards of quality and compliance with ISO 17025-2017.

Main responsibilities: |
- Perform Metrology Activities:
- Conduct regular calibration of laboratory equipment, including pipettes, balances, and thermometers, ensuring their accuracy and reliability.
- Execute temperature mapping for various equipment and storage facilities to ensure compliance with required temperature ranges.
- Carry out weight calibrations, adhering to established protocols and standards to maintain instrument precision.
- Prepare Calibration Documentation:
- Create and maintain comprehensive records of calibration activities, including calibration certificates, reports, and related documentation.
- Ensure all calibration documents are completed accurately and in a timely manner to support quality assurance processes.
- Monitor Climatic Chambers:
- Oversee the performance of climatic chambers, ensuring optimal conditions are maintained for sample storage and experiments.
- Implement a monitoring system to track temperature and humidity levels, addressing any deviations promptly to ensure compliance.
- Plan Calibration Activities:
- Develop and manage a calibration schedule to ensure all equipment are calibrated within required timeframes.
- Coordinate with laboratory staff to ensure minimal disruption during calibration processes and maintain laboratory workflow efficiency.
- Prepare Quality Management Documents:
- Assist in drafting and updating quality management documents, including standard operating procedures (SOPs) and quality manuals.
- Ensure all quality documents are aligned with laboratory practices and comply with relevant regulatory requirements.
- Maintain ISO 17025:2017 Compliance:
- Support the implementation and ongoing maintenance of the ISO 17025:2017 management system within the laboratory.
- Conduct regular reviews and audits of laboratory processes to ensure compliance with ISO standards and identify areas for improvement.
Candidate Profile: |
- Fresh graduate or candidate with experience in Food Chemistry or Electrical Engineering.
- Some experience in a metrology laboratory is preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Possess strong interpersonal skills, demonstrating kindness, patience, and a collaborative spirit.
- Excellent physical condition and ability to perform laboratory tasks.
- Detail-oriented, professional, and committed to high standards of quality.
