Job Description:
With over 300 employees, including about thirty expatriates from 25 nationalities, the Institut Pasteur du Cambodge (IPC) is a non-profit Cambodian institution, affiliated with the Institut Pasteur in Paris and under the supervision of the Ministry of Health of Cambodia. It fulfills three core missions: high-level research in biological sciences and health, services (medical biology laboratory, vaccinations, and water/food testing), and training.
Main Responsibilities:
– Research: Lead and coordinate the operational and epidemiological aspects of clinical research activities in infectious disease areas such as HIV, tuberculosis, viral hepatitis, rabies, antimicrobial resistance, and malaria.
– Team Management: Supervise and coordinate a group of local or international scientists and healthcare staff responsible for clinical studies and trials.
– Public Health: Provide expert support to health authorities in clinical research related to infectious diseases.
– Training: Participate in education and training activities in epidemiology and Good Clinical Practices (GCP) with national and international partners. Supervise and mentor national Master’s or Ph.D. students.
– Stakeholder Interface: Collaborate with healthcare networks and health authorities in Cambodia and the region.
Profile:
A health-biological researcher, especially with a background in clinical research on infectious diseases in tropical regions. Must have a proven track record in research, managing scientific teams, and clinical trial coordination. The position is part of IPC’s clinical research group affiliated with the ANRS MIE partner site in Cambodia.
Required Skills and Knowledge:
– Strong experience in team management
– Experience in teaching and training graduate students
– Scientific communication and public engagement skills
– Scientific and/or medical background in infectious diseases, preferably with Pasteurian training
– Ability to identify research and public health questions aligned with IPC’s mission
– Proficiency in administrative management
– Excellent knowledge of existing international and French research networks
– Strong understanding of health authorities, agencies, international organizations, and industrial partners
– Bilingual in French and English
Preferred Qualifications:
– Experience conducting clinical trials
– Proven experience in managing large teams, research organizations, or institutes
– Significant experience in financial and administrative management
– Familiarity with regional and international infectious disease networks
– Mandatory international experience
