IPC participated in the France-Cambodia Research Days on November 18-19
On November 18-19, 2024, the Institut Pasteur du Cambodge (IPC) participated in the France-Cambodia Research Days held at the Institut Français du Cambodge in Phnom Penh. This prestigious event, organized by the French Embassy, celebrated 40 years of CIRAD (Centre de coopération internationale en recherche agronomique pour le développement) and 80 years of IRD (Institut de recherche pour le développement) while showcasing the strong collaboration between France and Cambodia in scientific research.
Three representatives from IPC were invited to highlight their work:
- Navin Sreng, Head of the Laboratory of Environment and Food Safety, joined the debate on “Agroecology and One Health to Preserve and Nourish the World of Tomorrow,” emphasizing IPC’s contributions to sustainable health solutions.
- Sokleaph Cheng, Head of the Bacterial and Antibiotic Resistance Research Group, presented findings from the Drug Resistance in South-East Asia LMI (International Joint Laboratory), focusing on the transmission of antibiotic resistance across human, animal, and environmental populations.
- Emilie Carlot, Project Manager, shared updates on the newest ECOMORE project, part of the broader initiative to strengthen health security in the Indo-Pacific region.
The event welcomed over 230 participants, fostering discussions and collaborations across various scientific disciplines.
