Institut Pasteur du Cambodge welcome Dr. Tamara Giles-Vernick
On January 14, 2025, IPC had the pleasure of welcoming Dr. Tamara Giles-Vernick, Director of Research and Head of the Anthropology and Ecology of Disease Emergence Unit at the Institut Pasteur, Paris. During her visit, Dr. Giles-Vernick engaged in in-depth discussions with the teams of the Epidemiology and Public Health Unit, as well as with the IPC Direction, to explore potential opportunities for future collaboration. As part of the IPC seminar series, Dr. Giles-Vernick also delivered a presentation on her team’s work entitled The Social Emergence of Tickborne Encephalitis. This seminar shed light on the connection between social sciences and the study of infectious diseases. We are delighted by this exchange and look forward to strengthening ties and advancing shared research goals with Dr. Giles-Vernick and her team.
