On December 6th and 9th, the Bioinformatics and AI Applications (BAIA) unit of Institut Pasteur du Cambodge hosted a training course on the Basics of the Linux Command Line by Giorgio Gonnella. The interactive, hands-on course was well-received, with over 20 participants joining each session. Linux is widely used in scientific computing, as many tools rely on this open-source, free operating system. It’s also the foundation of Android devices and powers all of the top 500 supercomputers worldwide. Mastering the Linux command line is essential for unlocking the full potential of this versatile system. The BAIA unit, a newly established team, is dedicated to research in bioinformatics and AI applications. One of its key goals is capacity building, which includes training scientific and technical staff in IT and bioinformatics skills.
