Institut Pasteur du Cambodge and CAPFISH-Capture Strengthen Food Safety Standards in Cambodia
With the technical support of The CAPFISH -Capture program funded by the European Union and implemented by the Fisheries Administration and UNIDO, Institut Pasteur du Cambodge (IPC) has expanded its Laboratory of Environment and Food Safety (LEFS) accreditation scopes with ISO/IEC 17025:2017 by including nine additional testing parameters in food and water microbiology.
This expansion enhances IPC’s ability to support local food safety and food businesses by providing vital testing services within Cambodia, eliminating the need for cross-border testing.
The strengthened laboratory capabilities will help ensure that fish and other food products meet both national and international safety standards, benefiting public health and supporting the agri-food sector.
