Australia Partners with Institut Pasteur du Cambodge to Promote Food Safety and Exports, through CAPRED project.
On October 16, in the presence of Australian Ambassador H.E. Derek Yip, IPC and Australia officially launched the collaboration to establish ISO 17025 accredited testing services for pesticide, antibiotic residues, and heavy metals through the CAPRED program, to enhance food safety and boost Cambodia’s exports. Prof. André Spiegel, provided the opening remarks during which he emphasized the collaborations between the IPC and certain Australian Institutes or Universities, followed by a tour of the laboratory of Environment and Food Safety. Australian ambassador, Derek Yip highlighted the new services aim to improve product quality, create jobs, and expand market access. The ambassador underlined this collaboration as a significant step forward to improving Cambodia’s food safety landscape, supporting local businesses, including women-owned enterprises, to meet international standards.
