On October 8th, the Institut Pasteur du Cambodge (IPC) welcomed a significant delegation from the Agence Nationale de Recherche sur le Sida et les Hépatites Virales (ANRS). This visit reinforced the long-standing partnership between IPC and ANRS, which has been crucial in advancing clinical research in Cambodia.
The delegation was leaded by Pr Yazdan Yazdanpanah (Director of ANRS-MIE), Pr Françoise Barre-Sinoussi, Pr Saphonn Vonthanak (Rector UHS, ANRS-Cambodge), Dr Brune Spire (ANRS-Cambodge).
The visit started with an overview of IPC’s by Pr Andre Sipegel, IPC’s Director. This was followed by discussions on clinical research initiatives, particularly the new funding for dengue research led by Sébastien Boyer, Head of the IPC Entomology Unit.
Finally, the delegation toured the IPC campus, including a quick visit of the virology unit, guided by dr Duong Veasna and DrErik Karslson.
This visit highlighted the importance of collaborative research in addressing public health challenges in Cambodia, reaffirming both IPC and ANRS’s commitment to improving clinical research and research on emergent pathogens in Cambodia.
