Phnom Penh, August 16, 2024 – Calmette Hospital and The Institut Pasteur du Cambodge (IPC) have renewed their Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) in a ceremony that underscores their enduring partnership and close collaboration. The original MOU, signed in 2014, marked the beginning of a significant partnership focused on research and combating infectious diseases in Cambodia.

The renewal ceremony, held at Calmette Hospital, was attended by H.E. Prof. Kong Sonya, Director of Calmette Hospital, and Prof. André SPIEGEL, Director of IPC, along with dedicated staff from both institutions.

The signature was followed by a meeting during which both directors agreed to establish a committee to explore new collaborative pathways and directions. During the meeting, past and ongoing collaborations were discussed, and the committee’s creation was emphasized as a means to strengthen partnerships by identifying potential areas of cooperation, including antibiotic resistance, biological diagnostics, and clinical research.
