As part of Institut Pasteur du Cambodge (IPC)’s mission against rabies in Cambodia, especially to increase accessibility to rabies Post Exposure Prophylaxis (PEP) for the population, a Rabies Prevention Center has been opened since 2019 using a temporary facilities provided by the Kampong Cham Provincial Hospital, with support from the Ministry of Health and under the close collaboration between Provincial Hospital, IPC and Provincial Health Department (PHD).

Now, a new chapter for the center, on 26^th April 2023, an agreement was signed between H.E. Dr. Phirun KIMSOUR, Director of Kampong Cham PHD and Prof. André SPIEGEL, Director of IPC for construction and operation of a permanent facility as Rabies Prevention Center. This future center will be still located within Kampong Cham Provincial Hospital, with direct access from the public road, more convenient for patients.

The construction is planned to finish in the 2nd semester of 2023. This IPC-KC PHD Rabies Prevention Center will extend the PEP service to the northeast region of Cambodia.
